Hi! Kristin here, so happy to meet you! You can read a little more about me and my journey here. Or scroll down to see my credentials. But enough about me, can we talk about you and what we have in common? As moms, we have the world riding on our shoulders and too often we don’t have what we need to take care of ourselves. I am on a mission to change that.

Us moms really gotta help eachother

It takes a village to raise a child, but in the hustle and bustle, the moms can lose themselves. I know, that was me. Who is going to raise mom up?

“Mom…Mom…Mom…Mom….Moooooommmmmmm!!!….”

I am a mom of 4 (now) teenagers. Did I mention I had them all within 5 years? And we have a spectrum of special issues in our house. I always thought of myself as a foodie and a cook, but when everything I did seemed to only make my kids sicker, I had to start from scratch. I had to relearn everything. Eventually, I got a job and worked my way through school to become certified in Nutrition Therapy (and later Functional Nutrition.) There is NOTHING like the drive of a mom trying to help her family! (Mama bears unite?) But you know what? Somewhere amidst the trials and victories, improvements and education….I lost myself.

Stress, poor sleep, chronic inflammation, body aches, PMS, emotional turmoil…I wondered where the carefree me went. The girl who laughed easily and never sweat anything. The go-with-the-flow, up-for-adventure girl I used to enjoy (and the skinny jeans she used to rock!) I was tired and sore and sad.

The greatest triumph in my life is helping my kids heal. My family has navigated mulitple, scary autoimmune issues, undiagnosed but traumatic gut issues, mental health struggles, chronic pain and more. And my kids are not only functional, they are breath taking (proud mama moment!) And guess what? I LOVE MY LIFE AGAIN.

While desperately studying to find the answers for my kids (scroll down to see my credentials!), I experimented on myself intensely. Ask me. I have tried everything. Before I could try any new diet or protocol on my loved ones, I was the lab rat.

I accidentally eliminated my chronic pain and constant fatigue. I unwittingly balanced my hormones and increased my resilience 100 fold. I was almost too busy to realize it but when I did, I couldn’t believe it.

As I added lab testing to my repertoire of tricks, I zoomed in even more and began to consciously tweak my health. Now, I am at the top of my game! I am a better mom and a better person and I truly enjoy my life because of this work. I got my mojo back!

….I found myself and I love what I found!

I realize that being a mom is the highest calling and the hardest thing I will ever do. I know you agree. Circumstances drive us to put ourselves last. We stay up the latest and get up the earliest. We dish everyone first. We sacrifice constantly. Our hearts break daily. It is messy, daunting, overwhelming…and beautiful.

But we have this mom thing backwards…

YOU—I’m looking at you Mom— NEED TO COME FIRST.

YOU—I’m looking at you MOM—NEED TO COME FIRST

You can’t draw from am empty well. You can dish from an empty casserole dish. You can’t live on diet coke and whatever the kids didn’t eat!

You NEED sleep. You NEED food; the RIGHT food. You need to pay attention to the gut issues, the hormonal roller coaster, the exhaustion…you name it. You need to know your “numbers” so you can optimize them.

You need the building blocks to build and maintain a body that can maintain your superhero lifestyle.

You need to stop “dealing with” or ignoring your issues.

You need to call a time out for yourself.

When mom takes care of herself the whole family benefits!

What are we teaching our kids if we never stop to take care of ourselves? It isn’t selfish, it’s ESSENTIAL.

From a kid’s perspective

When mom feels good she:

Plays with me more.

I am not on her “last nerve.”

She laughs easily.

She has good ideas all the time.

She is always there for me.

There is more peace in our home. It feels so good to be around mom.

I see my mom taking care of herself, so I know its important to take care of my body too.

Mom of Four, Family of healing

I am sharing my family because this is my WHY. Why I do what I do. My family. Without them, this would all be theory. This has been an epic journey for all of us. We learned together that we aren’t victims of bad health, of chronic conditions or even bad genes. We create our wellness, we forge our health. It’s a group effort and worth everything we’ve got!
